    Pros +

    • Very nice hotel with big pool with beach exit. Staff very friendly
    • Big spacious rooms, with a beach (not private though), good food, diverse activities. Gagan from the Saltida restaurant was so nice and accommodating, fixed every inconvenience and made us feel comfortable.
    • Everything! The property was spotless, the service was top notched. I think i saw the Managing Director inspecting the site which often explain the great Hotel property condition, service, standards of the hotel.

    Cons -

    • The staff was very nice, but had a difficulty to help us. There are two hotels and we were made to believe that everything is open for us and it wasn’t the case. It led to some unpleasant situations.
    • Some of the guests who were loud and vulgar.
    • The food are a bit expensive

We stayed two nights in the Bay Wing and two in the Ocean Wing. The Bay Wing was better in just about every way - it was newer, cleaner, bigger, and had superior facilities. Breakfast in the Bay Wing offered more variety and was less crowded. Staff throughout the hotel were friendly and helpful.

Private beach, wonderful pool, what else do you want ?

The food are a bit expensive

    6AdamPosted on: 7-18-2025

Good location, good facilities, good breakfast but...

Definitely not value for money! We booked the room for 2 adults and 2 teenagers - we received a room with 2 beds, 1 fold-out bed and 1 coach (pretty hard). When we put our luggage into the room there was almost no space to move around. Waiting time to get to the restaurant for breakfast: 15-30min. Shuttle bus to the city center for 4 people was more expensive than a taxi. Shuttle bus operations for airport starts at around 11:00 - what if you have an earlier flight? This is definitely NOT a 5 star experience!

-The new rooms in the coral wing were very nice and the ocean view was great. -The bath products smell really nice.-The proximity to the beach is a major plus.-The staff at the front desk and entrance is very friendly and pleasant.

-The outdoor pools are all so shallow. When we arrived in the late afternoon we went straight to the pool and the water was VERY warm, almost hot, which was very unpleasant. It felt like a hot tub. Also, the cabana curtains and mattresses don’t appear to be maintained as they were covered in mold and stains. -The amount of money charged for food is excessive when the food is not very good and not worth the price. We tried the dinner buffet and we could not believe we paid ¥7500 per person for such poor quality and poorly prepared food. Even the local Yaeyama food wasn’t done well. The salad, fruit, and desserts were the only decent options out of everything offered. -I was disappointed to see there is no longer a snack bar down by the beach. It would be nice to have a place to get a drink, ice cream, or snack while at the beach. It would also be nice to be able to order drinks at the pool.

The pool area and view was nice. Staff at reception is very nice, but every establishment in Japan will have nice staff.

The room and furniture was old with marks and dents. The gym was just a small room with very minimal equipment. The room towels were cheap quality with no hotel label on them. You have to hold down the flush trigger until all the water completes and slowly twirls down the pipe before you can let go. There’s no shops around, you need to catch a bus or a taxi to get into town. For the price, it’s not worth it. Also had to pay extra money when I check out, they said it was for staying in the hotel.. which I already paid full price when I booked. Don’t really understand but I just accept it.

The chain IC is great as usual, it has provided the best leisure experience for my short vacation in Japan. The service is outstanding. The facilities are a little bit outdated, nevertheless it was compensated by the quality of food and overall impressions.

The cost of meal - too expensive, on average, a dinner set may worth you at least 10-15 thousand yen. It would be great if the hotel provided a coin laundry

Great for young families. Indoor heated pool & beach had everything we needed for our kids (towels/toys/floaties). Playground, lots of room to run around/be kids! Room very comfortable, bright, open & spacious! Many eating options albeit some very expensive. Staff very friendly.

The outdoor pool on our side of hotel was closed for maintenance & we weren’t allowed to use the pool on the other side. We didn’t know this until we checked in & it was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. (Still enjoyed the indoor pool though) booking.com stated there was kids club + babysitting services for additional cost but when I enquired, was told these aren’t available at all.

Japanese breakfast was excellent. I enjoyed the kaiseki and teppanyaki. It was pricey but good. Tropics cafe was great as well. Location to the beach with some coral. I got to see some fish. I have to say, I got put on notice for swimming outside the boundaries…sigh… My room was fantastic. I enjoyed the design and view. Easy to get in and out of the building. Lots of light.

The breakfast buffet at Saltida was underwhelming while expensive. Nothing special except the grilled meats.

Third visit in past 5 years. Always look forward to our stays in Ishigaki. Peace of mind knowing that we are staying at ANA InterContinental Ishigaki Resort. Highest standards and amenities always met. Great location, food and drink services and exemplary staff.

    10LouisPosted on: 11-8-2024

Great resort hotel, right on the beach in Ishigaki. Great concierge staff (Jean) who was able to arrange for may activities (snorkeling and island tour) ouside of the hotel, as well as very good local restaurants in Ishigaki. Beautiful and large rooms (especially by Japan standards). Very nice resort, great to relax after 3 weeks of intense visiting all over Japan. Great breakfast, the best we have seen in Japan.

Expensive restaurants in the hotel. Price of activities in the hotel is very high.

    7BrianPosted on: 10-5-2024

Room was a good size and very clean. The staff were very friendly.

There was no map to help us around. It was also not clear which restaurant was open at any given time.Service by the pool was a mystery. There was no bar.

    9LucasPosted on: 9-19-2024

Great location with beach access and quick transit to airport and city centre. Breakfast very good and rooms are spacious, modern and comfortable.

Menu by the pool is very narrow both for food and drink options. Seems like at easy fix.

    10SophiaPosted on: 9-2-2024

It was spacious and the beach was beautiful! Also the pools were very nice

    7CiaraPosted on: 7-22-2024

Beautiful lobby. Great views of the resort from the bedroom balcony. Nice pool area.

It was obvious our bedroom floor hadn't been swept or cleaned before we arrived. The restaurants are very overpriced in comparison to other restaurants on the island which forced many guests to leave the hotel in the evenings to go out for dinner. This created a very quiet atmosphere in the hotel restaurants. No pool bar.

    5HironoPosted on: 7-19-2024

The room is clean and beach is right in front.

Food is overpriced, the pool is too warm. They should put more staff at front desk during check-in and check-out time.

    6CarmenPosted on: 6-23-2024

    Pool area was great.

Property is dated and grounds upkeep not great. Restaurant prices extremely high in comparison to the state of the resort

    9JanPosted on: 3-24-2024

Very spacious room with sea view, very spacious and well equipped bathroom as well (shower and bathtub). Comfortable beds. Great breakfast selection, complimentary water bottles every day. Friendly staff.

Digital breakfast queuing system is very annoying, the Covid times are behind us. Just let the people come and either they will have space or not. Especially annoying is that you need to interact several times with the system for confirming and entering your information etc. It also does not remember you. Please improve.
